Playa Associates Receive Recognition During Pax Global Media 2019 Awards Of Excellence
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (December 13, 2019) – Playa Hotels & Resorts (NASDAQ: PLYA, “Playa”) Business Development Managers, Freddie Marsh and Christian Roussin were recently recognized by PAX Global Media’s 2019 Awards of Excellence.
Now in its 15th year, PAX Global Media has celebrated the best in the Canadian travel industry during their annual Awards of Excellence, which recognizes a range of travel professionals in several distinct categories. The awards are determined through a vigorous nomination process followed by thousands of votes by travel professionals countrywide.
Freddie Marsh, Business Development Manager for Western Canada took home the Social Media Guru of the Year, for his effective use of social media to promote the Playa portfolio throughout Mexico and the Caribbean. Marsh received notoriety earlier this year for Playa’s “Amanda Who” social media campaign, which successfully drove excitement and engagement through playful banter among travel agents. The campaign was recognized as one of the top 10 travel industry stories of 2019 from PAX News.
Christian Roussin, Business Development Manager for Quebec and Atlantic Canada took home Representative of the Year. An industry veteran, Roussin joined Playa in 2018 and is dedicated to growing Playa’s presence within the French-Canadian region. This is the second time that Roussin has won the award, the first was in 2010 during his tenure at WestJet.
